These patterns—often composed of lines, spirals, zigzags, and symmetrical motifs—are deeply rooted in spiritual beliefs, cosmology, and a close relationship with nature. Used in textiles, pottery, body art, and architecture, the geometry reflects cycles of life, duality, balance, and sacred landscapes. Each community, from the Andean peoples to the Maya and the Shipibo-Conibo of the Amazon, developed its own visual language of geometry, often passed down through generations as a form of cultural identity and storytelling.
